November 22Hola and good afternoon and Happy Thanksgiving week to all we are finally connected so you can retrieve notes and homework assignments daily:Seventh and eight grade students have been learning proper usage of the verb to be:Ser/ to be the following are the proper conjugation for each subject pronoun:Yo soy - I am / Tu eres - You are / El es- he is / Ella es- She is / nosotros somos - we are / Ellos son - they are masculine gender or mixed group / Ellas son - female plural / Usted es - You polite Singular are / Ustedes son - you are polite plural / vosotros -sois you guys are .We also learned the definite article for each noun the rule is that 99% of the time words that end in a get la and words that end in o get el.  but of course there is the exception to the rule like for instance the word :La mano - the hand ( although it ends in o it takes the feminine gender definite article)students were told that i would give them the exceptions to the rule so that they could memorize themexample of following the rule:el libro   the book        La casa - the houseStudents were also given a list of adjectives which they will be responsible for on the up coming quiz:Here is a list of the adjectives they will need to knowgrande - big / delicioso- delicious / dficil- difficult / facil- easy / inteligente - intelligentbonito (a) beautiful/handsome / feo (a) ugly  / rico (a)  rich / pequeno (a) small / tonto (a) stupid / pobre - poor

Students were given their quiz back all corrections need to be made in writing 3x each in english and spanish. quiz will be signed by a parent and returned on wednesday with corrections.

students were given a list of adjectives to work on in class they were told to finish any work not finished in class by next wednesday.  they should begin to memorize at least the first ten adjectives on the packet.

Students worked together in groups expressing full sentences using the descriptive adjectives based on the photos they were given.  They were also given new xmas words which were:

una estrella - a star  / un muneco de nieve - a snow man / un arbol de navidad - a xmas tree  / una luz de navidad - a xmas light / regalos - gifts  papa noel - santa claus feliz navidad pequenos - merry xmas little ones.

students were given a picture of the Nativity set to color and to write about using the descriptive adjectives and to be prepared to present next week

continue to study the descriptive adjectives and memorize them, fill in the Martin Luther King sheet and finish any work that was not completed in class.
